The RL got following info for its members:

The Mills on the Air event whereby radio amateurs set up a Special Event radio station in a local mill has been organised in the U/K over many years but it is only in the last few years that such an event has been recognised in the Netherlands and other countries.
So in the hope that we can attract a much wider involvement of mills throughout Europe we have set up our webpage (www.pd6mil.com) in the sincere hope we can attract mills all over the world to welcome amateur radio stations, to register themselves and join us in the Mills on the Air weekend.

Taking part in the Mills on the Air event with a amateur radio station not only promotes amateur radio as a hobby but provides advertising for each of our mills as being open to the public and well worth a visit. Confirmation of the radio contact will be confirmed by the amateur radio operators using their QSL cards sent to the world.

As an additional incentive we have initiated an Award Certificate in pdf form which will be sent out to each mill radio station that can verify it has made contact with at least 6 other stations mentioned on our website. Registration of your radio station on our website and the issue of Awards is entirely free.

Mills on the Air takes place during the second weekend in May when many mills in the U/K and the Netherlands will be open to the public. Our wish is to get as many mills as possible to have radio amateurs present throughout the whole world. In addition to the U/K and the Netherlands we will be sending this article to radio amateurs in many countries and encourage them to get in contact with local mill owners.
With this in mind please contact their mill , local amateur radio enthusiasts and If they are interested please feel free to mail Bernard at
or visit our webpage www.pd6mill.com.

The author of this article will be operating from the mill at Eendracht in the province of Drenthe in a small town called Gieterveen. It’s located in the Nort East of the Netherlands and the callsign will be PB17MILL
