English Every April 18, radio amateurs worldwide take to the airwaves in celebration of World Amateur Radio Day. It was on this day in 1925 that the International Amateur Radio Union was formed. The founders met in Paris in April 1925. The founding of the International Amateur Radio Union took place during a memorable session at the Sorbonne in which 23 nations were represented, including Luxembourg with LX1AS (Dr. Auguste Schumacher), LX1JW (Jean Wolff) and LX1AF (Jean de la Fontaine).

This year, Luxembourg will participate with the callsign LX5WARD which will be on the air from 6th to 26th April 2020.
